Wink fan clutch

My fan clutch is on when I take off in the morning. maybe a mile or so. Its 75 out side so why ? I had computer up dates put on my 2006 duramax 4x4 last week. Just bought the truck last month . I did turn the high idle off, thats all I have done . The tech at henry brown in gilbert az said the fan might come on if it was on when I turned the truck off . . 76000 miles. It sounds like a tank . So my question is why would the fan kick on if the engine is not hot ?
