Ive been reeding up on mods for my 02 Dmax and its inthe shop for a engine overhaul and while it was in there I was wonder if it would be worth it to put the aftermarket driverside exhaust manifold on and that new cam for it from crane cams. and was goin to put the 4" dynomax Staxx on it and w stage 2 intake from AFE. But what kind of chipe should I run with this set up???

I, uh, wasn't aware that you could find a camshaft for a diesel. To be honest, I was a gas guy who saw how much parts were made exclusively for diesels, so I don't even know if they make aftermarket cams for diesels. I have however seen a cam position sensor or two around. This may be what you're talking about. And if there is diesel camshafts, somebody better tell me where the hell I can get 'em!

I have read that Duramax requires a certain amount of backpressure, and that dual exhaust interfears with this. I have an 02 with the following: MBRPP 4" exhaust, Amsoil Air Cleaner, and Edge Juice. I have plenty of power. My turbo boost is very responsive with the air cleaner and exhaust.
I would be concerned that adding the cam would interfear with any chip that you might install. I would be sure to discuss with the chip manufacturers before installing the new cam or the new exhaust manifold with stacks.

so I shouldnt get the manifold to ballance the backpressure to all 8 cylinders?? But wont the turbo produce a decent bit of back pressure. and im not goin to a bigger down pipe cause my down pipe is purdy big. and im dont doin the cam cause that is alot of stuff i just dont want to put up with. so is there a place where I could read up more or somthing on modifyin my Dmax? What kind of input do yall have?

the stock manifold only flows at 80%. so it certainly isnt going to hurt flowing that extra 20%
