Guys
I'm still here. I have Depo's next week and if we don't resolve things i am set for a jury trial in November. GM's BK kind of put us off to the side for a while but we are back on track now and moving foward.

I threatened to sue GM Corp once (Oct '04). Even with 265K miles on my truck, GMC settled for $7500.00 inside 4 weeks, only because of the indisputeable evidence and overwhelming supporting documentation.

Ive also sued 2 "authorized" GM Service Centers (Oct '06) for fraud stemming from "unauthorized repairs" and incompetence. Those suits took about 16 months to resolve. I recovered all my monetary losses, nearly $4000.00 PLUS my attorney fee's as soon as depositions were taken, neither case ever made it to court. Again, my indisputable evidence and overwhelming documentation, and the shops inabilitiy to produce a GM certified 6.5TD mechanic, played a major factor in my cases.

Bottom line.. Keep thorough records and document everything, estimates, diagnoses, maint and/or repairs, names, dates, etc..... It helped me big time...

Like SpeedPro, some folks have villified me, claiming my law suits were frivilous. For those nay sayers, I say phuk 'em, they must like taking it up the ass on a regular basis.
I have done all that has been asked of me and then some to keep my truck 100%. I've never "dogged" my truck, its never been off road or abused, its never been wrecked, its never been upgraded for mo' power, and until recently only authorized GM service centers have ever touch'd the engine and driveline but NEVER AGAIN.

Frankly, it will take more than a $4500 tax rebate for me to ever consider buying a new GM or any american car for that matter. My next vehicle purchase will likely be a far more reliable antique upgraded with a few modern conveniences....
I am just like you, i have saved anything and everything to do with my truck. It has always been the Chevy dealership doing the all the service work .

Nice website, but no IH for me. Found a much neglected '50 Chevy Panel but I am still shopping for a '55-'56 F-100 Panel..

You don't make finds like that over here anymore... Not at decent prices anyhow. But as long as there's more manual and less electronic controls it's better...
[Oh, sorry about the hijack, just couldn't resist...]

I don't know about the 6.7 (I didn't care for the idea of the DPF), but the Mega does have a LOT of room in the back seat-I carried 3 adults in mine for 500+ miles straight w/no complaints. The 5.9 has more than enough power, & hiway MPGs were around 19 (mountains, 5 people, & a bed/cap completely full of luggage)-I just wish the Dodge body & interior quality were as good as GM's.

Yes if they only had changed the look of the dodge front end I most likely would have bought it and their leather addition is way to high priced with the 6.7l. The 6.7l has a ton of low end power but the problem is I hear it don't get good mileage at all. The DPF I don't see a problem with it in my truck it don't bother me being there it still pushes more hp and torque then the rest of the duramaxes.

You did good with what you bought. I got it first hand from a guy at work that they do get poor mileage, his was getting 13-14 mpg, that's why he traded it. From the son in law of another coworker who retired last year, his father in law's DPF plugged up a few months back. Took it to the shop for repairs and had to literally wait in line for 4 or 5 other trucks with the same problem. It's only a matter of time before the dealers start denying warranty work on this item while claiming that it's your fault for letting the engine idle excessively. They grilled the man about how much he lets his idle before they fixed it. Mike

Thumbs up

Ok guys, hear goes the update! as i said before, we went to a settlement hearing and had a bomb dropped on us. The BK judge for General Motors stipulated to all of us that had cases pending that were brought back out of the BK that we could not go after General Motors for any damages, Period! That blew us out of the water because we had gone after them for loss of business as well as punitive damages for General Motors not following their own protocal when it came to denying my warranty. They have 5 or 6 steps they have to follow before they can make their decision. Their DSM only had them perform 3 of them when he made his decision. Now we have the Government (Federal BK Judge) protecting Government Motors. We went through all of the inspections and tear down and at no time was there any evidence of a power-adder anywhere. They just kept assuming i had one because i had gauges, exhaust and a C.A.I. ,.

After going round and round in the hearing, we wound up settling for $30,000 cash and keep. In the settlement agreement General Motors made sure to word in that they were not accepting fault in any way(we know better). Their attorney kept telling me (we understand your concerns). I looked at her like i didn't know what she was talking about. Again, she said the same thing and i asked what are you talking about? She replied, your concerns about customer service, we are listening. I told her seeing is believing! She had the whole thread copied and sitting on the table in front of us. I guess their watching the different sites! My case is basically over now. I am still currently pursuing all of the cases I have gathered over the year and a half with the Government entities that are supposed to be the watch dogs and i hope to push them to make the changes it takes for the manufactures to stand behind their warranty coverages. It's far from a dead issue!

I just purchased an 07' CC Dually LT3 4x4 with 32k on it last week. The LBZ and the sixth speed are nice! I'm back in a truck and happy! I just know until some changes are made that my warranty is worthless. I am willing to help any of you that may get into the same situation. I am still on there a$$ and i'm not letting up!
